James McGrane

Rose, I think we may have a match. James McGrane, my 2gr grandfather, is on the 1880 census from Washington, Carroll, IA, with his second wife, Kate aka Catherine Cullington, and his children, Matthew, Henry, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, and Mary Ann. All, except Mary Ann, were children of his first wife, Bridget. Their other child, Catherine who was already married is on the 1880 census of East Boyer, Crawford, IA, along with her husband, John Dougherty, and their first child, Annie. Annie was my grandmother. You have a birth date of June 15, 1833. According to the 1880 census he was 50 so this is not an exact match, but I've known census dates to be farther off.Responses
