Nembhardt (yes with a "T")

Posted by Hyacinth Nembhardt <hyacinth.nembhardt@wamu.net> on Thu, 24 Feb 2005, in response to Jamaican Nembhards, posted by Jay Nembhard on Thu, 29 Jan 2004

Hello Jay,

It is very interesting to read all of the comments that you have posted in reference to the Nembhard name. As you can see, I am one of the Nembhardts who spells their last name with a "t". Although most of my immediate family leaves the "t" off (big family dispute. You seem to know a lot about the family history. Although, I must add to the dispute you had with Bernadette (sp) Nembhard back in 2001 about the skin color of the Nembhardts. Well, my father Edson Nembhardt was from St. Elizabeth (1 of 12 children) all of whom are dark skinned with the exception of Janice Nembhardt, my aunt who is light-skinned. All children were from the same mother and father, so you see no Nembhardt will have the same skin tone. I am light skined as my mother is French-Canadian. Interesting mix - huh?
