Nembhardt Family
Posted by Hyacinth Nembhardt <hyacinth.nembhardt@wamu.net> on Thu, 24 Feb 2005, in response to response to all Nembhards, posted by Yvonne Ebanks on Wed, 16 Feb 2005
Hello to all the Nembhardts,
My name is Hyacinth Nembhardt (yes with a "t" on the end). I have recently been researching my family name and found this website. This is amazing! My father, Edson Nembhardt, was 1 of 12 children (7 boys, 5 girls), born to Edmond and Hyacinth Nembhardt (maiden name McNeil) of St. Elizabeth. The family was primarily farmers and I was told that my great grandfather was one of the first to own a truck on the island (not sure how true)? My father passed away 3 years ago, in Milwaukee, WI. I currently live in Milwaukee, but my father came to America (Bronx, NY) in the 60's or 70's. The Nembhardts all look alike, in fact when I was in Jamaica in 1999 I was walking down the street and someone looked at me and just knew I was a Nembhardt. I would love to hear from anyone related to the family. All the Nembhardts I know are very hard work and the name is very respected in Jamaica. Please post a message!
