McAree

I was born a McAree in Stirling Scotland and have traced back to my gg grandfather in Stirling, but he certainly came fromS. Perthshire where there are many of that name. He was known as McAree or King, and others also used this alais. Indeed one of his sons used the name John King, and was married and had his children baptised as King. The name is presumed to be derived from the Gaelic Mac-an Righ, son of the King, and is a sept of the ClanResponses
