Posted by Karen Ciccone <kciccone@optusnet.com.au> on Tue, 11 Jan 2005, in response to harland family, posted by angela harland on Tue, 09 Mar 2004

My mother and I are researching her ancestors. Her great grandmother was Jane or Jean on (some records)HARLAND. She married a James BROWN in 1850's.On Dorothy Brown's birth certificate(their child) they were married in Lumley or Sumley Durham Co England. Marrying in something on Tyne Northumberland England. The writing is small on the certificate. My mother Dorothy was a Poyner from the Brown side. She was told as a child that her mothers family built ships! I am very eager to find any knowledge about this family. The Brown family lived in Bendigo Vic and we are going there next week to search the cemetaries for clues. I can also be reached by phone on (03) 97269286 Kind regards Karen
