Dream Catcher

Posted by David Spriggs <kds9737@hotmail.com> on Mon, 21 Jul 2003, in response to dream catcher, posted by Frances H. Price on Sat, 29 Mar 2003

The colors of the Dream Catcher are not important - The Dream Catcher was a branch formed into a circle with the use of a piece of leather that was taken from something you either owned or was given to you - After the completion of wrapping the branch you then would weave it into a web
with-in the circl and while you are weaving the web you would place items that are a part of or sacred to you (something with a lot of personal meaning),or to the one it is being made for. In this way the Dream Catcher would identify the person who the bad dreams are to be filtered for. After the construction you would then place it in the window (or in the case of a tent, the opening into the sleeping quarters). Before hanging it would be blessed by the medicine man or the head of house and the person would sleep peacefully without any bad dreams.
