Cherokee info for Curt

Posted by Oenita <heavensnow@aol.com> on Wed, 02 Jun 2010, in response to ancestors, posted by Curtis H. Brewer on Mon, 04 May 2009

Here are a couple of sites that may help you
find out about your Cherokee heritage.
Of course, by looking at the date that you posted this,
you may have already found your information.

I've been told, that many of the Cherokee are not on this list,
because of the prejudice in the nation at the time.
So, if you don't see the name here,
it does not mean that you do not have Cherokee blood,
it purely means that their name is just not on the list.

and look at the Dawes Roll

Another site that is good for searching your genealogy
is Ancestry.com. Not sure, but that may be the way
I got to your message somehow.

I wish the best to you on finding this info.
I, too, would like to know of my Indian background.

I have items that my great-grandmother had that lean
heavily towards her being a Cherokee. Although, I was told
that she hid out from the government and the trail of tears(and wisely so).

Best of life,
Nita
