Mayflower connection to BRIGGS
Posted by George Michael Briggs <GMBRIGGS@GMAIL.COM> on Fri, 28 May 2010, in response to Briggs lineage, posted by Ken Briggs on Sun, 15 Jan 2006
Hello,
I was reading through the posts searching for "Briggs" related information.. I too was told from my father that the "Briggs" came over after the Mayflower on either the 2nd or 3rd ship. This is the first time I've heard a complete stranger say the same story! Un-Be-Liv-able!! My family grew up in Honeoye, New York. I migrated south later on in life. There must be some truth to the Mayflower story then. I think in my lineage, the name Garlinghouse is linked somehow. And there is some descendant linked to the Civil War. But I'll have to get more information on that.
