honor o'flynn
Posted by mike logsdon <log92@hotmail.com> on Thu, 17 Dec 2009, in response to looking for the o'flynn family ancestors of county kerry, posted by Martina on Sat, 07 Dec 2002
hi everyone, well i guess i started all this and then lost track... sounds like i have a lot of cousins out there!! some questions have been answered, like her father's name.. great!! also, the story as we have it here in the kentucky logsdon's goes like this... william logsdon came over in 1647 as an endentured servant to the earl of baltimore i believe. honor o'flynn was reported to have been an irish princess from county kerry ireland, as the story goes she was kidnapped and brought to this country to wed william logsdon who i am assuming was awarded land by the earl of baltimore and began farming. from there the logsdon's started moving about to virginia, and came to kentucky with daniel boone through the cumberland gap. then there was some sort of family fued and some of the family headed to oklahoma territory and may or may not have changed the spelling of the name to logston. i used to think logsdon was a unique name but there are a bunch of us!! i would love to hear some of the stories from your families as well. one more thing, honor o'flynn was said to be a firey redhead with blue eyes. a bunch of my cousins definitely fit that bill!! take care everyone and merry christmas to you all.... mikeResponses
