McArees in Texas and Illinois

Posted by Jeri McAree Humphrey <jerih@argontech.net> on Wed, 28 Oct 2009, in response to McAree family, posted by Al on Sat, 30 Jul 2005

My husband was in the hospital for 7 months after I posted my initial inquiry and I totally forgot about this forum. Found it in an idle search last night and was overwhelmed. The clarification in the census spelling of the name gave me enoumous help. I find both families in Waukegan in the 1850s, 1860s (spelled McEvey, 1870s (spelled McArn), and 1880s (spelled McArse). Both Patrick and John are found just a few houses apart in all census.

I am very interested in knowing if any publications have been printed about the early settlers in Lake County.
