Honora O'Flynn's ancestors

Posted by Mary E. Johnson <tuiren@aol.com> on Sun, 30 Aug 2009, in response to Honora O'Flynn's Irish Ancestors, posted by Pat Flynn on Thu, 18 Jun 2009

Thank you so much for this additional information, which could well explain why I find no clear trail of O'Flynn families in Country Kerry, Ireland. I'm a descendant of Honora O'Flynn, and have been to the geneological library in Dublin, and also in Tralee, Co. Kerry, but found nothing more about Honora O'Flynn (or Honor O'Flynn, or Mary Honor(a) O'Flynn) in their records. I can now turn to County Derry geneological records and start there.

Your theory is also very interesting in light of family Logsdon oral history claiming Honora O'Flynn to be an "Irish Princess", as well as having been "kidnapped by pirates" and sent to the colonies as part of a "bride cargo".

I would like very much to learn more about Ireland during the mid-to-late 1600's, particularly in terms of culture and day-to-day life. Might you be able to recommend any particularly good resources for that?
