Roots of the Burgess family name

Posted by Jamie Burgess <jamie@jamiearmstrong.com> on Fri, 26 Jun 2009, in response to Origin of last name Burgess, posted by Debbie on Thu, 17 Mar 2005

I live in Canada and my grandfather, John Burgess moved to Canada from Merry old England. However, since I was a child, I was always drawn to the Irish culture and no one could figure out why - I was later told that burgess is in fact, of Celtic origins.........hope this helps,

Cheers!

Jamie
