The girl's name Latoya \l(a)-to-ya\ is pronounced la-TOY-ah. It is of Spanish origin, and its meaning is "victorious one". Derived from a short form of Victoria, or a blend of La- with Toya. Made familiar by Latoya Jackson, sister of singer Michael Jackson.
