is my last name last name German

Hello my name april.I am 10 and i want 2 know about my dads side of family.Him and my mom arent together so i never met him.He thinks he german.But i think his mom is english and his dad is german.His dad died many years ago.so were not sher.PLEASE HELP ME.I am just a little girl who wants 2 know about her family history.I just want 2 know about my heritage.
