Vidaurre
Posted by anita Rivas Medellin <amrivas@yahoo.com> on Tue, 29 Mar 2005, in response to Vidaurre last name, posted by Flavia Vidaurre on Mon, 28 Mar 2005
Dear Flavia,Viduarre can be spelled with an E at the end or an i, fable tells us that there were five brothers that left Spain and that two boarded the wrong ship, maybe to Brazil or ??? In my Family, my 4th great grandfather was un Hijo Natural de Francisco Vidaurre Y Vasquez Borrego.....it was a family that spawned five Mayors and three Governors....look up Santiago Vidaurri.....or Juan Antonio de Vidaurre, your best bet is to find out the names of your fathers family...look up baptismal records....look up ship records etc....you will be abale to trace your Vidurre family to Spain....there is a town in Spain named Viduarre, it could be that your family just came from there? I don't know...but a Vidaurre has a big forehead, round face....graceful hands....and the eyes are fierce, they can command you from a room without words....regal stature...Vidaurre's are also very stronge willed....my Viduarre mixed with the indians....so in my family we are or some of us light olive...it depends on the rest of the family genes.....in most case's People with the same last name came from the same town in Spain.....unless you can trace the family....also most priests named the indians after the Hacendado's.....so it's important to do the research.....I myself have been lucky in that the people I contacted already had my information because I already have cousins working on their genealogy.....
good luck!
anita
