Berlanga

Posted by Ben <bhyellen@comcast.net> on Wed, 23 Feb 2005, in response to Meaning of my last name, posted by Elizabeth Berlanga on Sat, 11 Sep 2004

Hello Rosalba Berlanga,

Well, I do know that Berlanga comes from Kigdom of Aragon which is of course SPAIN.

Berlanga is composed of two words Ber-Langa... which is Son of Virtue... Apparently it comes from a spanish/hebrew variation. I am still doing more research on this name.
Most of the Berlanga families reside in Southern Texas and Northern part of Mexico.. such as Monterrey, Nuevo Leon and some other sorrounding cities.

My Grandfather was a Berlanga. I hope it will help you on your assignment. Best wishes.
