Cavazos Ancestors in Texas
Posted by Fannie Cavazos Hewgley <Hewsable@sbcglobal.net> on Sat, 28 Jun 2003
I am desperately searching for any information about my grandparents Amado and Justa Cavazos. Known children born to the marriage were as follows: Adan (my father, married to Barbarita Zamora); Francisca (married to Agustin Lopez); Pedro (wife not known); Francisco (married to Maria Dulce Zepeda). My grandmother died in Goliad, TX when my father was less than 10 years of age. He recalls that they lived on the Pettus Ranch in the Riverdale Community outside Goliad and that she and a young handicapped son were buried in the Pettus-Lott Cemetery (also recorded as the San Jacinto Cemetery). I would like to place a marker on the graves but I have been unable to find any concrete evidence of their exact burial. The Victoria Diocese, which is a repository for Goliad County records, has not responded to several of my e-mail queries. I would appreciate any HELP/guidance. Thank you.Responses
