Deseo saber el origen de mi apellido

A quien corresponda:

Hola, mi nombre es Luis Sandoval Chiquini, soy de Mérida Yucatán, México.
Siempre he tenido la inquietud de conocer el origen de mi segundo apellido (Chiquini), mi abuelo decía que su propio abuelo era un italiano venido a México.
Es por ello que me gustaría mucho conocer una posible evolución de mi nombre y todo lo que se relacione con él; sé que a través de este medio, puedo recibir esa ayuda.
