A while back my family was contacted by Tijerina's from Ohio or some state up north. We bought a family history book that showed that we are originally from Spain. Tijerina family is a noble family from Spain. Several of our ancestors came to Mexico with Columbus and during the 1512-1516 period. So that is why some say we are from Mexico and others from Spain. In truth it is from both but our origin is from Spain.
