Origen apellido Mares

Hola soy Edit Cerdá Mares, por lo que conozco mi abuelo Camilo Mares nació en Arabia, pero no tengo precisiones sobre el lugar exacto, dado que el falleció cuando era muy niña.
Me gustaría conocer más sobre el origen de nuestro apellido.
