Mata's in Nueva Italia, Mich.

Posted by Frank Garcia <strelo1@aol.com> on Mon, 02 Feb 2009, in response to :), posted by Mayrane Murillo on Sun, 04 Jan 2009

According to my mother, (God rest her soul)she mentioned long ago, that her ancestors were Italian: no one in my family questioned my grandmother's roots. The only piece of information that I have is that she came from Michoacan. Since it was customary in the 1500s 1800s for immigrants of Irish, German, Italian, Mexican decent etc.... to form their own neighborhoods according to their Race and Lenguage they spoke. I just wonder is there anyone that lives or lived in Nueva Italia in Michocan, that knows about four sisters that lived there in the 1800s 1900s by the last name of Mata or Matta. My grandmother end up marrying a Coronado in San Luis Potosi, any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
