Loza in Colorado
Posted by A. Loza <grindin_for_life@hotmail.com> on Mon, 27 Oct 2008, in response to i'm a loza, posted by amanda on Sun, 02 Mar 2003
Hello, or I should probabbly say "Hola", im yet another LOZA. This is wierd finding others... all I did was google my name. Well anyways, from the few stories that my pops and I have shared; there was some big war or conflict that made a rather large Loza family flee & scatter. Some whent as far as modifying the Last name like "Del la Loza" for instance. [Time period for everything I know is unknown]My Loza branch migrated to the South Coast region of Jalisco, via my grandfather Fidel Loza. I Myself now live in Colorado, was raised in Cali, and was born in the region of "Cuatitlan De Garcia Barragan, JAL." I know there are many of us all over Jalisco, as I realized in a trip to Puerto Vallarta awhile back, where we met some Lozas at a restaurant by a river and a few other places.
My pops believed that before Lozas in Mexico our origins were from Spain; he might have something there considering our complexion is little less darker then the traditional. I defintely think there was a European mix somewhere[Conquistadors: Columbus, Cortez, Pizzaro...]. Which makes sense considering were we are in South America thru Mexico.
