Investigating my Asencio origins

Posted by Anthony Allan Asencio <anthonyasencio@gmail.com> on Thu, 10 Apr 2008, in response to asencio's, posted by Archie Asencio on Fri, 14 Jan 2005

Hi,

For a long time now I have been curious about the Asencio side of my origins. My grandfather was Francisco Asencio from Mexico City, Mexico. He met my grandmother in Jamaica when he went to study there. My father never knew his father (Francisco) but was given his name.

I have heard that my Asencio grandfather came from a large, family involved in some kind of family business in D.F. (newspapers?)...

And I have read that the name comes from the Basque region of Spain (Bilbao).

I realize there are thousands of us around, but if any one has any info, I can be reached at:

anthonyasencio@gmail.com

Thanks!

Anthony (Montreal, Canada)
