Nueva Italia,Michoacan

Hi,

My great grandmothers family were from Italy I'm wondering if anyone has come across some information to some of the people who came from Italy to Michoacan and named the city Nueva Italia? Her last name was Padilla
but that's spanish. Does anyone know where I can trace back to some Italian last names from the Nueva Italia?
