Loza's
Posted by Bob Loza <robertloza@mac.com> on Wed, 08 Aug 2007, in response to im a loza but my roots are, posted by Kimberly Loza on Tue, 12 Jul 2005
I live in Burbank CA. My father's name is Loza and he was born in USA in 1920. His father was born in Jalisco, Mexico and I suspect that the Loza name has been in Mexico since at least 1800. We have no proof, but it is likely that the 'original' Loza came across from Spain. There is a town in Jalisco called San Miguel del Alto where apparently there are many Loza's. They tend to be fair skinned with light color eyes. I have no relatives that I know of in any country but USA and Mexico, so it's been a looooong time since my ancestors came over. Loza is also an Eastern European name and is a word in Arabic and Ukrainian, among other languages. However, I have no reason to believe that my family sprung from those places. Interesting information, however.Display message for printing | Print Entire Thread
