Our Name

Posted by Victoria Cobian <monkey@spacestar.net> on Sun, 29 Jan 2006, in response to history of name cobian, posted by SHELLEY COBIAN on Wed, 02 Jun 2004

My husband is able to trace his family name, Cobian, back to Bohemia (part of which is modern-day Czechoslovakia.)However, it was spelled "Kobian" then. He often checks phone books for either spelling when we travel because it is, as you pointed out, rare.
Clearly, the name, when spelled with a C, is generally hispanic.
