Here is what I have...it matches you fairly well.

John D. Hill d/ca 1818 in Williamson Co., Tn. m(1) (unknown) … M (2)/Nancy (?) d/ca 1832 Williamson Co. Tenn.
Children are:
Richard Joel Hill d/aft 1871 in Lake Co. / Media Jordan
John William Madison Hill
Washington Hill m/Sally Higginbotham
Thomas Jefferson Hill
James Franklin Hill
Albert Gallatin Hill.
Elizabeth m. Reuben Harrison
Susannah m. Jos. Swanson
Mary Hill m. Mark Lively
Taliaferro Hill m. Nancy Woodruff
John Hill Jr. m. Genny Watts
Ann Hill m. Reubin Banks

John D. Hill did not leave a will but his estate papers, naming all of the children, are in Williamson Co. Tenn.

Nancy's will in 1832 named all of the same children except the two older Rachel and Susanna, and one deceased daughter Elizabeth. This may indicate Nancy was a second wife.

John D. Hill assigned Madison Hill of Amherst Co. to be his POA. The POA document. Document does not seem to be filed in Amherst.

I think your John D. Hill may be the brother of my Madison Hill. All we need to establish this link is a little DNA from a male Hill in a line to your John D. Hill. I might evcen spossore his DNA analysis. Regards,
