Kestler from Bavaria, Germany

Posted by Lynda S. Wise <lyndawise@aol.com> on Wed, 15 Jul 2009

MARGARETHA KESTLER HEINDL
1847-1880

Margaretha arrived in New York from Germany on July 12, 1872 on the ship "Nemesis". She brought Barbara, her two year old daughter with her. Margaretha and John Heindl were united in marriage on July 21st, 1872 in Dayton, Ohio by Rev. Charles Hahne.

Three children were born to them, Anna M. Heindl (b.1875) Michael Heindl (b.1876) and John Henry Heindl (b.1877). When Margaretha died Anna was adopted by Frederick and Kate Berens of Cincinnati; my granpa John Henry was adopted by John and Catherine Brohm of Mad River Twp., now named Riverside. The Brohm's are buried in Calvary also.

Michael and Barbara were living with their Dad in the 1880 census, with no census in 1890, I haven't been able to find more info on Barbara.
