Heindl from Bavaria, Germany

Posted by Lynda S. Wise <lyndawise@aol.com> on Wed, 15 Jul 2009

JOHN HEINDL

John immigrated to America from Germany, on August 6, 1851 on the passenger ship "Nerie" at the age of 26. Port of Arrival was New York, he states his occupation as framer.

He married Margaretha Kestler July 21, 1872 in Dayton, Ohio, just 2 weeks after she arrived in New York from Germany. She brought her daughter, Barbara, age 2 with her.

Together they had 3 Children: Anna M. (1875), Michael (1876) and John Henry Heindl (1877), all born in Dayton. After his wife died in 1880 he fostered out the children as they were very young.

He entered the Montgomery County Infirmary in Dayton Feb. 12, 1896 at the age of 69, where he lived until his death.

He was my great-grandfather; John Henry was my grandfather.

Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Lynda
