Scopinich

I am from Lussinpiccolo.
I don't know if it can be said that Scopinich was a common name over there in Lussinpiccolo. In that island were many with the same name and last name and the habitants would put a surname to some of the people to be able to know of whom they are talking. There were also many Picinich, Vidulich, Nicolich etc.
The island of Lussino was under many nations. Our language is a venetian dialect with some slavic words. As your grandfather, my grandparents, mother and father, we all went in italian school. That was the only school in the island.That is why your grandfather said he is italian.
I know a lady from Lussinpiccolo that leaves in Johannesburg. Her maiden name is Vidulich.
Did you go to Lussinpiccolo to find about your ancestors?
