H in DIEMEL

Nick, Interesting you mention "H" in the Diemel spelling. Have found some of the children born with the spelling Diehmel. Do you know if this is the original spelling of the Diemel surname? Have found 5 different spellings all in the birth registrations. It is almost as if great grandad could not make up his mind which he liked best.
