Yes Patrick,
I have been long interested in the Chassereau genealogy and I know that my ancestor Francis did in fact flee from France at the time of the St Bartholomew Massacre I believe, along with many Huguenots. I was always told he escaped on board a ship inside a barrel and was fascinated. My ancestry is detailed of my "tree" on Genes Reunited where I have traced a lie back to the Chassereau family. I have gleaned odd bits of info which I can share with you more fully if you wish e.g. was naturalised by George III and founded a hospital and a relative (?) may also have been a renowned fanmaker at the time. I must check the links to post to you. I would be very interested to know which of his descendants went over to America and when. Please let me know. Thanks
