So happy to hear from you. Having children does change our lives so much.
I do have some information on the family in Europe and would be glad to share it with you and your sister. If she has an e-mail address I would be happy to correspond with her also regarding the information she has.
My grandfather was also a sailor, he came to the U.S. on a merchant ship from Cuba. I also know that one of his sisters married and moved to Argentina so it is quite possible other branches of the family went to South America.
