Bowman information

Posted by James Hall <Tedandcarolhall@Gmail.com> on Thu, 24 Feb 2011, in response to BOWMAN, TOMPKINS, LEWIS in KY (Clay Co.?), posted by Kristina on Mon, 26 Aug 2002

I believe Doad Bowman's given name was Joseph. I'm not sure about children's names. The step father of the children was killed by one of them. I don't believe it was Guthrie, however. He was older than 13 and I believe one of the other, younger boys was tried for the killing. The step father was named Peck Napier, I believe. The family moved to Indiana afterwards and Edna may have remarried.

I'm not certain of the details, but I think the above information is approximately true.

Doad had brothers W.D., D.B.. Henry, James and Robert and at least one sister, Mollie. I believe all are now deceased.

As I say, I'm not certain of all this information, but I do have some knowledge of it. W. D. Bowman was my Grandfather and Doad Bowman was my Great-uncle.
