I was born and raised in South Philly, ans lived in the 900 block of South Second Street. John Lewandowski also lived in the same block. He lived across the street from St. Philip Neri school. I also went to this school with a Henry Lewandowski who lived in the 100 block of Christian Street. We were altar boys at St. Philip Neri Church. John sold Christamas trees every Christmas in the school yard of St. Philip. John also may have worked on the docks of the Phila. waterfront.

Thomas, thank you for responding to my post. What is the timeframe that you knew John Lewandowski? My husband's grandfather, Joseph Thomas Lewandowski was born January 1900 at 749 S. Front Street in Philadelphia. His father was the John Lewandowski I was mentioning in my post. I don't know if we are talking about the same family, but I'm always looking for new information.
