Information on MABEL BIDWELL born before 1902, died in Connecticut
Posted by Lauren Lyga <shortstuff5588@sbcglobal.net> on Thu, 06 Mar 2008
I am looking for more information on my great great grandmother MABEL BIDWELL and her family. Bidwell is Mabel’s married name, and I am not sure of her maiden name. I do know that she is of English descent and she died in Connecticut, perhaps in Willimantic.I also know that her daughter’s name was Florence Bidwell (my great grandmother). Florence Bidwell married Arthur Short and they had 5 children:
Henry Short (died at age 2)
Arthur Short
Mabel Short
Danny Short
Mary Agli (Short) (my grandmother born 4/4/1938)
Since my grandmother was born in 1938, I am assuming that Mabel was born in 1902 at the latest, but I am assuming she was born earlier than this.
I know that there are many Bidwell’s in Connecticut and I also know that John Bidwell (1620-1687) was one of the documented founders of Hartford, Connecticut. I know a lot of genealogical work has been done on this Bidwell line and I was wondering if Mabel and her husband are perhaps linked to this line.
Any information on MABEL BIDWELL is appreciated; especially information on her husband, parents, her husband’s parents, their children, her or her husband’s siblings, and their lifestyles. I am currently enrolled in a family history/genealogy class at my university and I would love to find out as much as possible.
Thanks again,
Lauren Lyga
