Theophilus Ballengee
Posted by Janet Estep <larryestep@comcast.net> on Thu, 01 Apr 2010, in response to Theophilus Ballengee, posted by Karen on Sun, 17 Sep 2000
There is no documentation that I know of that Theophilus Bellange is the father of Yves (Evi) Bellangee. If anyone knows of the documentation, I would love to see it as I have been looking for it for years. Evi Bellangee came first to Virginia about 1680. His marriage in Philadelphia says that he presented a certificate from Virginia which means that he had been a Quaker in Virginia. He appears in Henrico Co., Virginia in land records as early as 1680, and he also appears in Quaker records as witness to marriages. This means that he would have been about 21 or so (old enough to buy land and receive land grants) so his birthdate occurs ABOUT 1660. This means his father could not have been born in 1650.If anyone has documentation or clues as to where documentation can be found, please email me. Thanks!
