Hello, I've read your email and did peak my interest
beacuse my surname is Barnes, my grandfather Parks Barnes
Came from Va, i was told Richmond Va, or Norfolk
He is in the 1880 census listed w/ the Elam Family as a nephew age 19,in 1883 in Louisiana he's married to my grandmother Sarah Bernard oral history has it that he came to Louisiana w/ a man name Bailey who was from New York
