Stroud

You had questions about the Strouds of Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado. All one family. The White Stroud came from Alabama and Virginia. If you dont know the name Levi Stroud then you have not wore his jeans. Also another family member is the founder of Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Now the black Stroud slaves were brought to Texas, and yes they lived in Navarro, Tx. Durning the land rush in Oklahoma, Lewis left with his family and settle near Loganville, Oklahoma. Lewis was mulatto and might have been the son of one of the white Strouds. Lewis married Amber or Amette Kelly, which could explain why Dolphus had that middle name. Lewis and Amber childern are Susan (Susie), Youngey, Edey, Leney, Dolphus, Cissie, Cora, Lewis Jr., Kimball, Irena, Tandy and Section. Susie Stroud Perkins is my Great-grandmother. In the 1920 Census I find Dolphus or Dolphred married to LuLu, but by the 1930 census it appears that she is now married to Kimball, Dolphus older brother. Im not sure if this is correct, but it may explain why some of the younger childern shows Kimball as there father and not Dolphus.
