good afternoon,i was reading a query on afrigeneas of a researcher and they gave a website for georgia and i checked it out " georgia virtual vault." i typed in slaves and came across a portuguese ship i think from reading the document of a slaveship named " jesus nazarene." the ship was in the river gambia in 1817 and captured 95 africans and brought them to america inspite of the 1808 ban on international slavery in america.the captain was mariano terrare.the slaves became the property of william mc intosh and charles williamson.this is just a little of what the documents state because it consist of 20 pages.bear in mind this is before the " amistad." has anyone done any research on these 95 africans ? what was the final outcome of all of this ? insha-allah i hope to learn more about this history.dawah_ma_90221@yahoo.com-p.o.box 338-compton,ca.90223Responses
