James Beaube, 1870 census

On the Jefferson County, MS 1870 federal census, James Beaube (son of Jacques Louis Beaubet and Susan Butcher) is listed as Mulatto. His wife Sarah and daughter Sarah are also listed as Mulatto. On this census, they could have been classified as either: white, black, mulatto, Indian or Chinese.
