I was looking at your site and wanted to add some information. I don't know if I am related to you, but I have a Cousar family story. My grandmother, whose name is Izetta Williams Smith told me that she was born in Hickory Grove, South Carolina in York County. She said her father's name was John William Cousar and he was married to Carrie Adams, his mother's name was Bessie Cousar and she lived to be over 100 years old. John's father was a twin. I don't exactly know which twin was his father, but the twins names were Mat and Ad. It seems that John William Cousar was about to get into some trouble with the revenue man and fled south carolina with his family to north carolina. It was at this time that the family dropped the Cousar and went by Williams until his death and his children who lived in north carolina continued to use this sir name until their deaths. Many of the current family members have no knowledge of the Cousar. John Williams Cousar did have a sister who lived in north carolina and she married a Nichols. This is about all the information I have and if there is some connection please hit me backDisplay message for printing | Print Entire Thread
