Tina; this is the information I have on my Goodwin lines in Al and also Jackson lines. Ben Jackson b: abt 1881 married one: Melvinia Underwood b: abt 1884. There children: Herron, Russell, Lewis and Lula B, Homer, Sadie, Sylvester, (son?), Ben Jr, Baite, Red and Fate. This is all I have on the Jackson's on the paternal side of things, in Alabama. My maternal Jackson's begin: with Elmirah Jackson b: abt 1835/GA married one: Asberry Parks b: abt 1834/GA. There children: General Beaurigard, King Hyrum, William, Laura, Alexander, Andy, George B., Sydney(great grandfather), Anna A., Asberry and David. This family is from the Georgia area; don't know if any settled into Alabama. But these are my mom-Betty Jean Canada's family.
Sydney Parks b: Dec 1863/GA married one: Frances Raines b: November 1866/GA(my great grandparents/maternal side). There children: Annie, Lilla, Gertrude, Tommie and John, Viola(my grandmother), Charlie W., and Grantland. I'm still researching this family of Jacksons; and this is all of the information I have for now.
Goodwin line: Starts off with; William Goodwin b: abt 1814(my 4th great-grandfather), somewhere in Georgia; still trying to pinpoint an area in Georgia. He had two sons-Russell Goodwin(my 3rd great grandfather) b: Sept 1849?GA and Jim Goodwin b: abt 1853, according to census had his two sons born in Georgia.
Russell Goodwin Sr b: abt 1849 married one: Lizzett Coleman b: abt May 1850/FL(?)(my 3rd great grandparents maternal side). There children: Edmond b: Oct 1871, Maryland Goodwin Sr., b: Dec 1873, Adeline b: April 1875 Jim b: November 1877, Russell Jr., b: Jan 1878, Archie b: May 1886, Julia b: Feb 1888, Josh b: April 1890, Ardenia b: Oct 1891, Ellis b: Sept 1893 and Coleman b: Jan 1884.
Jim/James Goodwin-brother, to Russell Goodwin Sr., was born: Jan 1853/GA(?) married one: Lola Coleman b: November 1859/GA(?) d: 13 April 1940/AL. There children: Nora b: Nov 1880, Daisy b: Dec 1881, Lola b: Dec 1883, Sylvia b: March 1886, Earnest b: November 1887, Dennis b: Jan 1890, Seale b: Oct 1893, Inez b: April 1895(?), Mary b: Jan 1897, Ruth(unknown) and Nebraska(unknown). The last two children Mary and Nebraska; didn't have birth dates for them. This information taken from the 1900 census records there in Bullock County in Alabama.
Lola Coleman's parents were: Carter Coleman b: abt 1816/VA and Adeline(maiden name unknown) b: abt 1831/VA(4th great grandparents maternal side). Only Adeline place of birth is consistent with each and every census, for being in Virginia. Carter and Adeline's children were: Julia b: abt 1847/FL(married Jerry Davenport), Lizett b: abt 1851/FL(married Russell Goodwin Sr), Henrietta b: abt 1853/FL(married Monroe Battle), Nancy b: abt 1855(married Fredrick Briars/yars), Lola b: Nov 1860(married Jim Goodwin), Edmon b: abt 1862(married Eliza Dawson), Johnson b: abt 1863(married Anna Martin), Peter b: abt 1868(married LeAnna Carlisle) and Clinton b: abt 1870(married Della(last name unknown).
I could go on; but let me know if there are any family connections here.
