Cudjo Kazoola Lewis died in late 1920
Tarkbar Tribe
114 slaves sold to Captain William Foster for $100 each entered Mobile Bay July 9, 1860
From Benin
Slaves created own neighborhood at Magazine Point
Cudjo started Africatown now a part of Pritchard, Alabama.
Cudjo was from the Tarkbar Tribe.
There is a bronze bust in his honor in Bienville Square.
