Re Cousar

Hi Edward

I would like to talk to your sister. May be she can help me. I have not been able to find the parents or syblings of my grandfather, William Couser. My father, Willie Cousar and grandfather did not use the same spelling of our surname. I believe that the spelling of my surname changed with my father. However, I am not sure.

Because of the different spellings, I have not been able to make a connection with any of the Cousars or Cousers. My grandfather died when I was about six years old and my father died before I started my research. I was raised with my father's mother, Martha Mackey Cousar, also of Lancaster, SC.

I never met any of my grandfather's syblings, but I know that he has a brother, John, who moved away. I don't know if he used the Couser or Cousar spelling.

I have so many questions. Where is Great falls? Where you raised Baptist?

I had done a lot of research. May be I can help your sister. I have a copy of Rev. John Cousar who was a minister and slave owner. He had a plantation in Sumter, SC.

Thanks for any information. Email me at OtMrg@aol.com
I hope to hear from you soon.
Margie

Note: There will be a Cousar family reunion in Charleston, SC August 5 to 7, 2005.
