PLANTATION

Posted by Carol Payne <Bballpayne@aol.com> on Wed, 01 Jun 2005, in response to E. Feliciana Parish, posted by Jeaneene Nooney on Wed, 01 Jun 2005

Jeaneene,

I have research the Simons side of my family and found 277 memebers as of 2003. I follow my 2great-grandfather William F. Simons (one of 8 children)from the 1860 DC census, to Memphis, TN, then to Greenville, TX, were he died. I am trying to find out about his life in Greenville.

I have 4 main goals: 1) to find about William life in Texas; 2) finish finding information on his parents & brothers & sisters; 3) to research the Louisiana Jones & Delaney side of the family; 4) to research the Alabama Terry side of the family. The problems is that I don't know the names or know how to find out the names of the plantations in LA & AL.

My greataunt turned 103 last weekend and I am trying to finish this book for her, because I don't know how much time she has left. I know that this is a lot, but this is my commitment to her.

Carol Payne
