PLANTATION
Posted by Carol Payne <Bballpayne@aol.com> on Wed, 01 Jun 2005, in response to E. Feliciana Parish, posted by Jeaneene Nooney on Wed, 01 Jun 2005
Jeaneene,I have research the Simons side of my family and found 277 memebers as of 2003. I follow my 2great-grandfather William F. Simons (one of 8 children)from the 1860 DC census, to Memphis, TN, then to Greenville, TX, were he died. I am trying to find out about his life in Greenville.
I have 4 main goals: 1) to find about William life in Texas; 2) finish finding information on his parents & brothers & sisters; 3) to research the Louisiana Jones & Delaney side of the family; 4) to research the Alabama Terry side of the family. The problems is that I don't know the names or know how to find out the names of the plantations in LA & AL.
My greataunt turned 103 last weekend and I am trying to finish this book for her, because I don't know how much time she has left. I know that this is a lot, but this is my commitment to her.
