Amanda McGinnis

Posted by Melody Miller <melody_miller@hotmail.com> on Tue, 22 Mar 2005, in response to McGinnis, Macginnis, etc in Alabama, posted by Loretta McGinnis on Fri, 20 Aug 2004

Imagine my surprise!! Amanda McGinnis, I believe was my great, great grandmother. She is from Marengo County Alabama. Her children were Marilla, Janette, Enoch, and maybe others.

My mother's (Mary Jean) grandmother Janette grew up in Marengo County. My mother's mother, Evelyn, spoke of "Aunt 'Rilla" and of Uncle Enoch, who moved to Chicago.

Also, my mother and her siblings grew up in Marengo County, specifically in Thomaston, Alabama. It's about 11 miles from Linden.

I have been searching for information on my ancestors for many years and all I had was a name.
