Very happy that you were able to spend time with you father after soooo many years!
It wasn't until 1994 that I found out from my maternal grandmother that my father was actually a HAWKINS, but his name legally was MOORE (his mother's name) because his parents were to be married but Clarence died 6 months before my father was born.
I have a WILLIAMS connection too. Where were your WILLIAMS from?
My paternal Grandmother Minnie MORRISON-HAWKINS born 1889 GA was the daughter of Albert MORRISON and Sallie WILLIAMS. Sallie was born 1874 in Elbert County, GA..dau. of Flem and Georgeanna WILLIAMS....In 1880 Census Flem reported he was born in SC as were his parents, but cannot locate him in 1870 GA or SC
