Samuel Singleton

Posted by Michelle Foster <foster.michelle@comcast.net> on Tue, 07 Sep 2004, in response to Benjamin "Pap" Singleton, posted by Bertram H. Singleton on Fri, 26 Sep 2003

I am doing research on my grandfather and he assisted Benjamin "Pap" Singelton with bringing african-americans form the south to Kansas.
My grandfather ran a boarding house for these people until they were able to get on their feet. In 188 Census there was a Samuel Singleton staying at his boarding house the information is as follows
Cencus Place: Mineral,Kansas county Cherokee
Samule Singleton a miner
Sex: Male, Single, Black 24 years old birthplace MO father and mother came from Kentucky.

I am not sure if this will help
