Stoneham family

Posted by Angie Gooda <angiegooda@yahoo.co.uk> on Sat, 27 Mar 2004, in response to Stoneham Family, posted by Bill Stoneham on Sat, 23 Aug 2003

I was interested to read your message. My grandmother's maiden name was Stoneham and I have recently done some research into the family history. I have only gone back to the 1700s and found the family seem to have lived in the Lewisham, Greenwich ,Bexley area so what you say sounds very likely. I have some reference to a branch from Grayford which some member of the family was not too impressed with! My research is ongoing so if I find out more I shall let you know. At the moment I am looking at Sarah Stoneham whose husband was killed by the natives at Cape Roxo Africa in 1833, do you know anything about that?!Good Luck. All the best, Angie Gooda
